Abstract：The term"tacit knowing"or"tacit knowledge"was first coined by Michael Polanyi(1891-1976)in his Personal Knolwedge in 1958.In this article,the author attempts to give an accurate exposition of Polanyi's theory of tacit knowledge with the emphases on the principle of the primacy of tacit dimension and the structure of tacit knowing.Also,he tries to bring out the main theoretical characters of the theory.
